SEAL™ Controller

CEMTEK KVB-Enertec SEAL™ Controller

CEMTEK KVB-Enertec’s SEAL Controller is a modern, scalable data controller to meet the diverse needs for emissions data collection and reporting. When partnered with CEMTEK KVB-Enertec’s powerful NetDAHS Edge software, the SEAL controller provides the user with access to all DAHS functions related to air emissions monitoring and reporting. SEAL comes in a convenient 19” rack mount package including a 7” full-color touchscreen with simple to learn user interface (UI). All controller functions are the CEMS instruments.

Compared to other data collection platforms, SEAL provides more storage, faster processing speed, additional communications ports and an enhanced user experience to view the complete status of the air emissions monitoring equipment. SEAL supports the optional Cylinder Scanner tool to automate entry of calibration gas cylinder information into the DAHS, eliminating the possibility of errors caused by manual entry of data. An optional handheld wireless scanner can be connected to the SEAL to enable point and click scanning of gas cylinder certification sheets or labels.

Key Features

  • Responsive and vivid touch screen displays CEMS data and control information in modern UI

  • Support for larger, rack-mounted touch screen monitors to make navigation even easier

  • UI designed with CEMS technicians in mind to allow control of maintenance mode, probe blowbacks, calibration sequencing and more

  • Full access to all data channels and support to drill down to raw I/O points

SEAL™ Controller Advantage

SEAL has been built from the ground up to meet today’s evolving needs for air emissions compliance. It comes in a proven industrial package that includes expansion ability through I/O options, USB ports, communications ports, etc. SEAL comes with USB ports to support functionality by adding a keyboard, mouse, or USB data storage devices. SEAL includes multiple Network Interface Cards (NIC) to allow full segregation of communications on a local network inside the CEMS shelter and a plant area network where the DAHS server computer may be installed. Full Modbus support is included on either serial (RS485) or TCP/IP format. Various other communication protocols are possible to support a wide array of local conditions.

Compared to a traditional PLC, SEAL offers many advantages:

  • SEAL includes an integrated touchscreen that offers simple to use graphics designed for CEMS applications
without the need for third party display terminals or individual configurations of screens
  • SEAL is built for the application of air emissions data monitoring and logging
  • PLC ladder logic is primarily designed for controls and must be adapted to handle CEMS data demands
  • SEAL provides local data storage using efficient, optimized data handling routines
  • SEAL supports many communications protocols out of the box without the need for added modules or
    customized ladder logic routines
  • SEAL requires no additional software or third-party licenses to load or update configuration changes, or
    facilitate backup and restore functions

Cylinder Scanner:

Add the optional Cylinder Scanner to make your calibration gas cylinder management tasks as simple as point and shoot. SEAL will include an industrial wireless code scanner to be located in the CEMS shelter. Whenever you receive new calibration gas cylinders, simply take the wireless tool and scan the QR code on the cylinder certification sheet. Detailed cylinder information will be saved into records required for reporting. This eliminates all possibility of human error where the operator has to read the cylinder certification sheet and manually type in the required information. Never worry about hard to read cert sheets or mis-typed information again.
